On September 28th, SVA students gathered in the BFA Computer Art, Animation, and Visual Effects department to hear firsthand from Lucasfilm recruiter Ryan Howe about what it takes to make it as a designer or artist at Lucasfilm. Ryan discussed Jedi Academy, the California-based internship program, as well as job opportunities for Technical Artists, Animators, Concept Artists, Character Artists, and more. Students saw exclusive footage of Lucasfilm projects and process, heard job search advice from experienced Lucasfilm employees, and had all their questions answered by an experienced recruiter.
Jedi Academy is looking for summer interns in game programming and engineering, game art, R&D engineering, software engineering, information technology, web development and more. The internship program is paid and open to junior undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students. Applications open up in mid-December, so check out their website for all the details and for job opportunities, too!
