The web series The Bear, The Cloud and God by 2006 alumnus Dan McNamara will be screening at this year's New York Television Festival on Wednesday, September 22nd at 8pm and Thursday, September 23rd at 5pm in Tribeca Cinemas (tickets are free). NYTVF will also have a series of events and panels helf at SVA's West Side Theater (333 W 23rd St.). For more information, please vis www.nytvf.com. The series is also part of Next New Networks and screens on Channel Federator, the largest subscribed animation channel on YouTube (Next New Networds also produces "Adventure Time" as seen on Cartoon Network).

2009/10 Senior & 2006 Alumnus Collaboration accepted at NYTVF
Dillon McCarthy, one of our current Seniors, and Chad Von Nau, a 2006 alumnus, have been accepted at this year's New York Television Festival. Their short film Lost Cities will screen as part of the Independent Pilots Competition during Comedy Block 6 on Thursday, September 24th at 6:15pm and Friday, September 25th at 5:00pm. Below is a brief description:
When a friendly cabbie (Danny DeVito) tells two young sisters the story of a boy named Leo (Michael Hall D'Addario)who moved to Manhattan with his family, a magical adventure begins. While adjusting to the big city and enjoying the days leading up to Christmas, Leo accidentally loses his dog Ramona in Central Park. Leo is devastated by his loss until a magical creature named Little Spirit appears and takes him on a quest to find Ramona. Leo and Little Spirit venture out on the journey of a lifetime, taking in the festive surroundings of the city and meeting people from all walks of life. By the time Leo is reunited with Ramona, he has an eclectic group of friends that make the strange city seem like home.

2006 Alumnus participates at New York Television Festival
The NYTV Festival screened Redeeming Rainbow, a television pilot by 2006 BFA Computer Art Department alumnus Dan McNamara, Friday September 7th at 10:30pm, and Sunday, September 9th at 2pm. It was included in the Independent Pilot Competition at the festival.

2006 Alumnus selected for ResFest Vienna 2006
ResFest Vienna 2006 will be screening The Sky Bar, a film by 2006 BFA Computer Art Department alumnus Kitty Lin, in December. ResFest, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is an internationally acclaimed media company dedicated to innovation in music, art, design and culture. It hold festivals in cities across the globe and has always been an important taste-maker in the design and animation field. 2006 Alumni selected for Flip Animation Festival
The Flip Animation Festival has chosen three films by 2006 BFA Computer Art alumni to be screened this October. Flip is the Midland’s only animation festival, and aims to promote the best in regional, national and international animation. Although the 2006 Festival only marks the third anniversary for Flip, it is distinguishing itself by showcasing unique and exciting artists from across the globe, including David Shrigley and the Brothers McLeod, as well as SVA graduates Josh Greer, Min-ha Lee, and Wing Luo.

2006 Alumnus part of Chilean International Short Film Festival
We are pleased to announce that the Chilean International Short Film Festival has selected 2006 BFA Computer Art alumnus Rodrigo de la Parra’s film, Beginnings. to screen as part of its 14th annual program. The festival, organized by the Arcos Cultural Corporation, was started in order to bridge the gap between the academic and artistic sides of production and the public sphere, and is one of the leading short film festivals in Latin America.

Class of 2006 featured and honored in MetroCAF 2006
Ten films from BFA Computer Art department graduates once again dominated the MetroCaf this year. MetroCaf 2006, the fourth annual Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival, is organized by the New York based AMC SIGGRAPH, an organization devoted to excellence in the Computer Graphics field. 2006 Alumnus nabs prizes at Taiwan International Animation Festival
Kitty Lin, a 2006 BFA Computer Art alumnus, has won the Technical Arts Gold Prize and the Proton Creative Gold Prize in the Taiwan International Animation Festival. Kitty will be awarded $3,000 and a 42 inch LCD monitor for her short animated film, The Sky Bar. The Taiwan International Animation Festival draws an audience of 30,000 people each year and presents cutting edge animated work from across the globe.

2006 Alumnus featured in New York Television Festival
The Calderons, a film by BFA Computer Art alumnus Dan McNamara, is a finalist in the New York Television Festival and has been nominated for Best Comedy Pilot, an Audience Award, and the Grand Prize. McNamara’s film will be part of the Festival’s screening program at the Directors Guild Theater on September 16th at 2:45 pm. Free tickets can be reserved in advance through the NY Television Festival website starting September 1st, or are $2.50 at the door.
Class of 2006 featured in KROK International Film Festival
The Krok International Film Festival has selected two animated films by BFA Computer Art graduates to screen in Moscow this month. The Clown, by Wing Luo, has been entered in the official competition, and The Sky Bar, by Kitty Lin will be screened as part of the Panorama presentation. The Krok Festival invites qualified jury from all over the world including France, Russia, Belgium, Ukraine, Holland, Poland, Belarus, Czech Republic and others.
