2012 Computer Art alumni have great success at MetroCAF 2012!

This year, the 10th edition of the NYC ACM SIGGRAPH MetroCAF, TWELVE out of the total 26 films selected for the festival were by 2012 BFA Computer Art alumni, and TWO of them received Special Recognition Jury Awards. The following films screened at FIT's Haft Auditorium this past Friday, September 28:

2012 Computer Art Alumni Accepted at SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival

The film Ramus by 2012 Computer Art alumni Chris DeVito and Danica Parry has been accepted at this year's SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival! Ramus will be screened as part of the Electronic Theatre program, a two-hour overview of the best animation, visual effects, and scientific visualizations produced in the last year.

The film Eternity by 2012 alumnus Byung Hoon Han has been accepted as well. His film will screen as part of the Animation Theater, a program of all-day shows featuring the outstanding works selected by the Computer Animation Festival jury.

This is the 5th ACM SIGGRAPH Conference in Asia and will take place November 28 through December 1 in Singapore. For more details about the conference and the screening, please follow this link.

MetroCAF 2012 Screening THIS FRIDAY!

This Friday is the MetroCAF Screening! As many of you know, we have lots of success at this competition every year and it's a great opportunity to see and reconnect with our alumni.

MetroCAF 2012 Screening Details Announced!

NYC ACM SIGGRAPH's MetroCAF will be celebrating it's tenth edition this year with a screening on Friday, September 28th, at 7:00pm at FIT's Haft Auditorium. MetroCAF is an annual computer animation festival that features pieces by students from NYC-area schools. This year 26 pieces will be featured at the screening and our students have had great success every year. Additionally, the jury selects four films to be recognized for outstanding achievement - these awards will be announced the night of the screening. So come out and support SVA Computer Art. We look forward to seeing you there!

Outstanding Success by 2011 Alumni at NYC ACM SIGGRAPH MetroCAF!

The ninth edition of MetroCAF featured TEN films by 2011 Computer Art alumni! MetroCAF is the annual NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival organized by the New York CIty chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH.

2011 Alumni Films Accepted at SIGGRAPH Asia

Two films by SVA Computer Art alumni have been accepted at this year's SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival in Hong Kong: Rabbitkadabra by Michelle Czjakowski, Kryzsztof Fus, David Chen and Naomi Chen, and The Fear by Sung In Sohn. 2010 Alumni accepted at SIGGRAPH Asia - December 15-18, 2010

Two films by 2010 alumni have been accepted at this year's SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival in Seoul, South Korea. Luciernaga by Jesse Flores & Jessenia Nauta, and Balloon by Eric Xu will be screening during the exhibition. 2009 Alumnus accepted at SIGGRAPH Asia 2009

At the 2nd ACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition in Asia, Oneironaut by Erica Kobren will screen for the world's leading experts on computer graphics and interactive techniques in the city of Yokohama, Japan. This international festival of art, animation, and tomorrow's technologies is associated with the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival held in New Orleans this past August where two other alumni were accepted as well. 2008 Alumni participate at SIGGRAPH 2009, New Orleans

The SIGGRAPH conference and exhibition is a five-day interdisciplinary educational experience that includes a large variety of presentations and installations from the newest technology and software to the most innovative digital art and film. SIGGRAPH also hosts a Computer Animation Festival, celebrating the some of the most innovative and stimulating of computer-generated animated films. This year two of our 2008 thesis films will be among those shown this August in New Orleans: Lilium Urbanus by Anca Risca & Joji Tsuruga, and Daydreamer by Roland Womack.
